Cranleigh and the Villages Labour Party Working for you in Alfold, Blackheath, Cranleigh, Ewhurst, Shamley Green and Wonersh
How many times have we heard the questions:
“What can you take to the tip in Cranleigh now?
“When is it open?”
With Cranleigh Recycling centre only open Saturday, Sunday and Monday many people have to take to the high road and head to Witley Recycling – an excellent facility but 13 miles away and accessed via winding and narrow B roads – it’s a big effort and not very environmentally friendly.
Labour says: Fly tipping is on the increase – open Cranleigh Centre more often and make it cheap and easy to recycle or dispose of waste. Help us to help ourselves & the environment.
In fact the problem with fly tipping is so bad that Get Surrey reported recently that Surrey Country Council spent £900,000 on fly tipping over the course of two years (1). This is not acceptable.
